All Illinois COPS Chapter members, supporters, law enforcement officers and the public are encouraged to attend the Cycle Across Illinois closing ceremony on Sunday July 20, 2008 at at 3:00 p.m., at the Chicago Gold Star Families and Memorial Park, located near the Southeast corner of Soldier Field. The arrival of the cyclists after the nearly 400 mile four day ride from Alton to Chicago, will be followed by a brief ceremony including remarks from Chicago Police Superintendant Jody Weis. We also encourage attendance at any of our stops along the route, including:
Thursday July 17tha. 07:00 Ceremonial rear wheel-dip into Mississippi River
b. 16:00 Stop at Illinois Peace Officers Memorial – Illinois State Capitol.
Friday July 18th
a. 09:30 Dedication for Illinois State Trooper Brian McMillen,

c. 19:30 Riders arrive in Bloomington/Normal – Riders will arrive from North on College Avenue, riding under the pedestrian overpass at the Illinois State University campus, between Fell Ave. and University St.
Saturday July 19th
a. 15:00 Riders arrive in Joliet and proceed to the intersection of Chicago and Ohio streets for the 3:30 p.m. dedication of “Jonathan Walsh Way”, named in honor of Joliet Police Officer Jonathon Walsh, E.O.W. August 20, 2004.
b. 18:00 Reception/Dinner at Heroes West, 1530 Commerce Drive, Joliet.
Sunday July 20th
a. 10:00 Break at Orland Park Police Department, 15100 S. Ravinia Ave, Orland Park, IL
b. 15:00 Riders arrive at Gold Star Families and Memorial Park, Chicago (near the Southeast corner of Soldier Field).
Closing ceremony with remarks by Chicago Police Superintendant Jody Weis.
