Illinois COPS Chapter members, supporters, law enforcement officers and the public are invited to attend the ^6th Annual Cycle Across Illinois closing ceremony on July 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m., at the CPD Headquarters, 3510 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago .  The arrival of the cyclists after the nearly 350+ miles, four day ride from Alton to Chicago, will be followed by a brief ceremony.  The tentative schedule and route is given below.


Thursday July 15^th

0700       Breakfast and ceremonial rear wheel-dip into Mississippi River
1200       Lunch, near Waverly
1600       Wreath laying ceremony at Illinois Peace Officers Memorial – Illinois State Capitol.

Friday July 16^th

0700       Breakfast at Victory Bingo Hall (compliments of Mrs. Jerry Overman)
0800       LV Springfield
1200       Lunch Atlanta, IL
1700       Riders arrive in Bloomington/Normal

Saturday July 17^th 

0700       Breakfast, LV Bloomington/Normal
1200       Lunch near Dwight/Pontiac
1700       Riders arrive in Joliet 
1900       Reception/Dinner at Heroes West, 1530 Commerce Drive, Joliet.

Sunday July 18^th

0700       Breakfast, LV Joliet:  Stop at Jonathan Walsh Way
0930       Memorial ceremony for Hainesville Cpl Cesar Velazquez at the
               Orland Park Police Department,  15100 S. Ravinia Ave, Orland Park, IL
1030      LV OPPD
1245      AR Chicago Police Department Headquarters:  3510 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago.
               Meet Chicago PD’s Memorial Foundation Riders
1330      Memorial ceremony at CPD Headquarters
               3510 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago  
1400      Joint ride to Gold Star Families and Memorial Park, Chicago
             (near the Southeast corner of Soldier Field)
1500      All riders leave and return to CPD Headquarters.
1530      AR back at CPD, fruit and sandwiches for riders/drivers before departure
